24 Hour MSHA New Miner Training
STC offers 24-hour MSHA New Miner training for those entering the mining industry and requiring either Part 46 or Part 48 courses.

- Health and Safety Aspects of Assigned Tasks
- Miner’s Rights Under the Act
- Respiratory Devices
- Transportation Controls and Communication Systems
- Escape and Evacuation Procedures

- Ground Control/Water Hazards/Illumination and Night Work
- MSHA’s Fatality Prevention – Rules to Live By
This course can be delivered in three (3) eight-hour days or two (2) twelve-hour days. A split plan is available where one eight-hour day is completed and the balance of training is completed within sixty days.
8 Hour MSHA Annual Refresher
MSHA requires annual refreshers in order to maintain Miner status. Failure to complete the 8-hour MSHA Annual Refresher course requires completion of the 24 hour New Miner class prior to resuming work in the Mining Industry. Don’t let your Certificate of Training expire! Make sure to schedule your refresher training well in advance of your certification’s expiration date.
Experienced Miner Training
Safety Training & Consulting has developed this program to prepare newly hired employees who have established Miner training to work safely with their new employer’s safety process. Program content focuses on the employer’s safety program and the types of tasks performed on mining properties.
